On The Pipe 5

Sometimes a moto vid comes along that will inspire, encourage and enlighten you. On The Pipe 5 is one of those flicks.

The Powerband Films crew of Jay Schweitzer and Mike McEntire (renowned for his revolutionary snowboard films under the MackDawg Productions brand) have certainly hit the proverbial nail on the head with On The Pipe 5.

The biggest talking point of OTP5 is pretty obvious – Jeremy Lusk’s shoot at Fitzland with his Metal Mulisha homies was his last before he headed to Costa Rica for the X Knights contest that could ultimately claim his life. And boy, did Lusk throw down some gnarly shit, with some of the biggest Backflip Combos you’re ever likely to see, proving Jeremy really did bow out at the top of his game.

But there’re tonnes more mind-blowing scenes on OTP5. The footage of the likes of Dustin Miller, Adam Jones and Drake McElroy (to name just a few) hitting a crazy dirt compound in Reno is reminiscent of Nitro Circus’s epic group sessions. Josh Grant’s Glamis Dunes freeriding chapter will have you tapping the rewind and slow-motion buttons, the Canada section will have you itching to go out and ride, and the final section where Lusk’s friends talk about his passing is bound to have you reaching for the hankies.

Believe it: OTP5 isn’t just another instalment of this legendary series. This is the cornerstone; the feather in the cap; the one people will talk about.
