Ever since we did that feature story on Jake Bowen around 12 months ago now the kid seems to be growing from strength to strength. He's really enjoying riding a dirt-bike again, like he's found a new lease of life for FMX and his confidence is coming back by the bucket load. Jake just sent us a message that he's done a deal with the Godfather Mike Metzger to ride for his new team Mob Syndicate, with him saying, "Metz approached me about riding for hes new team/brand MOB SYNDICATE, and I jumped at the opportunity. So now I'm wearing full custom Alpinestars/MOB SYNDICATE gear. Its really cool to be riding for Metz after he helped me out by loaning me a bike for my USA trip back in '03. I've always looked up to him so I'm pretty stoked to be riding for him and representing Mob Syndicate."

Jake says he has been keeping in touch with Metz through Facebook and updated him on his movements. After while Metz offered him the deal, "I'm heading over to X Games soon so we will catch up properly again, and I'm looking forward to it. I lost contact with Metz after '03 but found him again through Facebook and we started talking again. At the moment I'm rocking the gear and logos, which helped me out a lot because I was searching for a gear hookup, so a few sets of gear and a pair of Tec 10s was perfect for me, and the custom gear looks great."
Over the next 12 months Jake is looking to get really comfortable Flipping and trying to do all the comps and shows he can. He just wants to keep having fun riding his bike, and says he has a couple of other things in the pipeline, which he'll fill us on in when he locks them in.
Nice one Jake, looks like we haven't seen the best of the Coffs Kid yet, bring it on mate!
Jake Bowen now has the gear to match his style!
