Somewhere, we hear angels singing... Farm Jam's freeride course looks heavenly.

fjfmxHoly shitballs we're excited! New Zealand’s Frew brothers have been hard at it reshaping and fine-tuning their amazing Farm Jam course for the next year’s event, and it’s looking off-tap.

The third instalment of the Farm Jam will take place on March 6 2010, which means it’ll be tonnes cheaper for riders from Australia wanting to compete at the natural terrain FMX comp. With points from the event also counting towards the 2010 Freerider MX FMX Rider Of The Year Award (this will be the opening round) there’s even more incentive to head over to the deep, dark south of the South Island.

In previous years the Farm Jam has been held between Christmas and New years, but Dan and Brett Frew moved it to March after talking to the local top-dressing pilot, who said early March is the most settled, windless time of year.

We’ve been told the moto course has received a lot of attention and improvements after the Frews received feedback from the Crusty crew, who rode the course earlier this year.

“We’ve added a few new sections and jumps, lipped all the jumps up to give more pop, and we have made novice and expert options on the take-offs, so everyone can ride it and have fun,” says Dan. “It’s been a lot of work, but it’s a massive improvement on what we’ve had the past couple of years. There will be a Best Trick comp, and maybe a Best Whip contest as well.”

Other improvements include the complete rebuilding of the BMX course, which now sits next to the mountain-bike doubles and dirt quarter-pipe line and has enough lines and options to make your head spin.

After Steve Sommerfeld, Joel Brown and Matt Cole attended the last comp and sung its praises, three Aussie FMXers have already confirmed their entry, and with places limited to just 12 spots in the moto competition, riders from both sides of The Ditch are encouraged to voice their interest ASAP by emailing Dan on the address below.

On top of that, we’ve heard some of the world’s best BMX riders are planning on coming to In Zid for the pushy comp, and with the likes of Red Bull, Unit and Jim Beam coming on as major sponsors, the 2010 event is promising to be the biggest and best yet.

Prizemoney and rider lists will be confirmed in the next couple of months, so stay tuned!
