The top women’s motocross event in Australia has a new name thanks to Link International. The 2010 event is now “The 2010 MOTUL Pirelli Australian Women’s Motocross Championship”.
Brenden Stoeckert, General Manager for Link International says “The Women’s Championship is a natural fit with the company’s philosophy of supporting grass roots events. The 2010 event promises to put women’s motocross on the map in Australia and it was important that we were part of that opportunity. Both Motul and Pirelli have evolved from motorsport racing and I’m excited the tradition can continue into women’s motocross.
Promoter, Fiona Collins is equally enthusiastic. “From the F1 championship to the Isle of Man TT, both MOTUL and Pirelli have always been connected with the highest forms of motorsport competition and it is a huge boost to women’s motocross to have these iconic brands associated with the first stand alone women’s motorcycle championship in Australia.”
The Championship class will also benefit from Pirelli contingency with the first 3 finishers in each race using Pirelli tyres scoring Pirelli product.
Entries along with contingency registration are now available on www.nominate.com.au
Supporting the championship racing is a complement of women’s and junior girl’s classes along with Open and Lites racing. Fi Collins comments “That the event will be the richest women’s racing in the history of Australian motorcycling.”
In the lead up to the event more details of the Championship will be available on the event site www.wmxnationals.com.au and www.facebook.com/womensmxchamps or www.prettyfast.com.au
Motorcycling Australia will be following the event via www.ma.org.au/women
