It’s crazy to think that it’s already been eight weeks since we unveiled the cover of Freerider MX #59. And you know what that means? It’s time to reveal the cover of our latest issue!
It’s OK if you’re scratching your head wondering who on earth that is busting large on the latest cover – it’s Aussie legend Jake Bowen, who hasn’t had a cover since way back in 2003. Not only is “Bones MC” back (and well-and-truly killing it), the Coffs Harbour lad was also the standout rider at our legendary Freerider MX Old-School Reunion.
The Reunion is the mainstay feature in this issue, as 11 of FMX’s O.Gs converged on the Halls’ compound for a day we’ll remember for a long time. If you’ve ever wondered what the likes of Shaun Richardson, Mick Hall, Bowen, Leigh Harriman, Chris Thomsen, Mitch Glover, Luke Cole, Cam Sturtridge, Robbie Marshall and Michael Norris are up to these days, then you can’t afford to miss this issue.
Freerider MX #60 is chokkas full of other fantastic stories, too. We go behind the scenes and give you a sneak preview of the hotly anticipated Nitro Circus tour (and you can also win backstage passes as well!) go freeriding in the Esperance sand dunes in southern WA with some of the big guns, and take you inside the best FMX comp of 2009, the Red Bull FMX Battle in a small New Zealand town.
On top of that, Grant “Goba” O’Brien gives you an VIP pass into Red Bull HQ as some of the industry’s big-wigs knock heads to solve the FMX judging issue once and for all, we chat with Freerider MX’s FMX Rider Of The Year, Joe Sheppard, and show you how to wash your bike like the factory race teams do.
Freerider MX #60 also comes with a bonus FMX/Out Of Bounds Films DVD called Heavy Hitters, which features all the sport’s biggest names throwing down for our privileged lenses.
This issue drops on Wednesday March 17, so lock the date into your calendar and get pumped!
