UNIT Summer Party Shoot

Unit are very creative when it comes to their photoshoots, and even though we're in the middle of winter now's the time to start working on summer catalogs and promo material. Max Duff explains below how he went about taking the image and as you'll see there's more to it than just pointing a camera at a crowd and pressing the button.

Max Duff: Ok, so here it is. Probably the hardest photo I've ever had to take. What you see is the combination of two photos.... We obviously couldn't have Nick Cooper jump the gap while people were partying underneath so I had to set the camera up on a tripod, anchor it to the ground, take two seperate photos and then merge them together. The merge was the only photoshopping work done... no levels, no cropping... nothing.

This shot couldn't have happened without the help of Tyronne Fitzgerald. Without his expert help on the lighting (I think we had a total of 5 Bowens and a ring flash!) this would have looked dark and crappy. Thanks Ty!!!!!!

Thanks also to Emily Baker, Monique Anderson and Robbie Stewart for all their help organising the props and outfits.

And finally thanks to all the riders and friends who came to be in the shot. We had less than a weeks notice to plan this shoot so im stoked we had such a massive turn out!
